to the second round of the Buckingham Advertiser cup with a win over Marsh Gibbon.

Batting first Fringford posted an impressive 140-7 and then restricted the visitors to 115-4 setting up an away tie at Gawcott on Monday the 2nd of June.

Fringford Spring Fayre

Fringford Cricket Club are delighted to be running the BBQ stand at the Fringford Spring Fayre on the village green on Saturday the 26th of April.

This is sure to be a great event with fun for all the family, featuring Paint-a-pot, Wellie wanging, Coconut shy, Bric-a-brac, Raffle, Ball-in-a-bog as well as a Fun Dog show and dancing.

20/20 Cricket

Are you a fan of the shorter form of the game? Well 20/20 comes to the Oxfordshire league for the first time and Fringford have been invited to play as the Winners of last seasons Fair Play award.

So for some big hitting and fast action come along and support Fringford in this home match against Garsington at 15.00 on the 11th of May 2014.

AGM 2014

Fringford Cricket Club held there annual AGM on Sunday the 2nd of February 2014 in The Butchers Arms. Those present agreed to the formation of a new committee as detailed below:

  • Chairman – John Bacon
  • Secretary/Treasurer – Les Fagg
  • Saturday Captain – Tony Burcham
  • Midweek Captain – Shaun Wickens
  • Media Member – Joff Cheney
  • Grounds Manager – Shaun Wickens
  • Pub Member – Terry Gooch
  • Member – Royston Blake
  • Member – Ade Measday
  • Member – Ian Mann

The following points were also decided.

Registration/Match Fees for the coming season will be:

  • Registration – £5.00
  • Saturday – £8.00 (£4.00 for juniors)
  • Midweek – £2.00
  • Nets – £3.00

A presentation gift was made to Joe Wickens who after 50 years dedicated to Fringford CC has decided to take a back seat.
Joe has been made a Hon Life Vice President of the club. (We currently have 4)

NETS:
A reminder that Nets start this coming Sunday the 9th February at Bicester Sports Centre starting at 6pm.

A Great evening in the pub for the prize giving, followed by an excellent chilli and curry.

What an end to a very good season.

Congratulations to Tony and his team. They beat local rivals Chesterton yesterday in the last game of the season to finish 2nd in the league. This victory has sealed promotion to League Div 3 for next season.
