As you know, we managed to purchase the ground after a great effort by all concerned. The ground purchase cost us £45k. This was achieved by obtaining a grant of £35k from the England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) with the balance of £10k coming from the £10,653.00 raised at the Summer Ball.
As you are aware at the same time as the Ball was being planned, other fundraising activities were also on-going, eg: Debbie`s Parachute Jump, Damian`s Sponsored Cycle Ride, the Ladies 3 Peaks Challenge, etc.
Having purchased the ground we decided to put other money raised to good use to improve things within the club, theses were:
£500.00 to refurbish the Gangmower.
£600.00 for new Team Cricket Shirts for 2 team squads.
£504.00 Solicitors fees for ground purchase.
£823.00 to Pitchcare. Loam & seed for Square renovation.
£1,948.00 to Barrus Ltd. Purchase new Sit-on Tractor Mower.
£3,420.00 to Turney Groundforce. Purchase new Specialist Square Mower.
£770.00 to Cherwell District Council. Planning application fees for new Machine Shed.
In addition to all of this expenditure, we do of course have to pay the usual Water, Electric & Council Tax, plus all the day to day running of a Cricket Club. It may surprise you to know that we have on average an annual turnover of £8k to run the Cricket Club and this of course is apart from any capital expenditure on equipment. I do hope that this information gives you all the assurances that all of the money raised is put to very good use . The support that you have given to the Cricket Club is very much appreciated by all concerned. We hope that you continue to support us.
